Alyssa Jayne Milano was born in December 1972 in Brooklyn, the daughter of Lin, an American designer and fashion designer, and Thomas M. Milano, an Italian music editor and yachtsman. Young Alyssa  spent her childhood drawing or playing the piano – she was a little reserved, but very artistic girl. When her younger brother Cory was born,  Milano put on whole performances and told the baby her own fairy tales. Her mom often held shows of her collections in clubs, and dancers acted as models. Once one of them persuaded to take her to the casting of the musical “Annie”. So the girl got her first role – the orphan Julie (July). When  Milano was eleven years old, she first appeared on television in the series Who’s the Boss? (“Who’s the Boss?”, 1984-1992). After a successful debut, the aspiring actress moved to Hollywood with her father. Mom flatly refused to go, saying that she would not leave the house for the sake of a momentary show.

In 1985, Alyssa  was cast as the daughter of the hero Arnold Schwarzenegger in the action movie Commando. A few years later, the film was shown in Japan as a promotion for her’s fourth music album. In the late 1980s, the actress became incredibly popular among young viewers and starred in several television series. She wanted to leave the film business for a while in order to get a good education, but a busy shooting schedule and a contract did not give actress the opportunity to prove herself in something else. In 1992, the show of the series “Who’s the boss here?” Ended, and  Milano was able, in her own words, to breathe freely and move on.

She broke her role as a sweet, charming girl to smithereens, appearing in explicit scenes in the films Casualties of Love: The Long Island Lolita Story, 1993, Candles in the Dark ( Candles in the Dark, 1993), Embrace of the Vampire (1995) and Deadly Sins (1995). Soon, she returned to the television screen: Aaron Spelling himself invited her to her TV series “Melrose Place” (“Melrose Place”, 1997-1998). Started a new project “Charmed” (“charmed”, 1998-2006), and she was recognized as one of the most popular actresses of Hollywood soap operas. She took part in the filming of the films “Single with Parents” (“Single with Parents”, 2008), “Hour of Twilight” (“Blue Hour, The”, 2007), “My Name Is Earl” , 2005-2009) and others. But none of these roles brought Alyssa   such fame as the role of Phoebe in the acclaimed TV series about the magic sisters Halliwell. In March 2009, she voiced a character in the video game “Ghostbusters”.

The actress also presented the book Safe At Home: Confessions of a Baseball Fanatic, dedicated to her main passion – baseball, and starred in the romantic comedy My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend. She played the role of Rebecca Thomas in the sitcom Romance in Doubt. Her character is a divorced, single mom who hasn’t gone on a date since “when Bill Clinton was president.” In May 2010, filming was suspended due to low ratings for the series. Milano appeared in the comedy Celibate Week alongside Owen Wilson, Jenna Fisher and Christina Applegate. She also starred in her own production project, Sundays at Tiffany’s. In 2012, it became known that Alyssa  would take part in the filming of the melodrama The Lovers, a story about four women.

Personal Life

Their relationship with co-star Shannen Doherty is still tense to this day. It all started when Shannen beat Alyssa in the casting for the lead role in the comedy “The Supermarket Party People” (“Mallrats”, 1995). Then she began an affair with Alyssa’s on-screen lover Julian McMahon. When a terrible scandal broke out on the set of “Charmed”, someone had to leave – Alyssa won this little battle.  Milano can hardly be called an ordinary girl: in addition to the film set, she finds time to promote vegetarianism, maintains her own baseball blog and does not miss a single game of her favorite Los Angeles Dodgers team, is the ambassador of the Global Organization for Forgotten Tropical Diseases, UN Children’s Fund from United States and UNICEF Imitation or Treatment.
