Frank Zane BioGraphy : He was born on June 28, 1942. He is an American retired professional bodybuilder as well as a writer. Frank is a three-time Mr. Olympia. Frank’s physique is considered one of the greatest in the history of bodybuilding due to his careful attention to symmetry and proportion.He was inducted into the IFBB Hall of Fame in 1999.

His’s birthplace is Kingston, Pennsylvania USA. He will turn 79 in 2021. Frank says that he started bodybuilding in his teens after reading Muscle magazine. He went from 130 pounds (59 kg) at 14 to 160 pounds (72.5 kg) at 17 through his hard lifting. He completed his schooling in Kingston, Pennsylvania and enrolled at Wilkes University for his further studies. And in 1964 he received a Bachelor of Science. He then taught math and chemistry while living in Florida and California for 13 years. From 1965–1966 he taught math and chemistry at Wachung Hills Regional High School (in New Jersey) for the school year. In addition to teaching, he was also studying psychology from California State University, Los Angeles, and in 1977 he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. In 1992 he was awarded a master’s degree in experimental psychology from California State University, San Bernardino.

Bodybuilding career

He has won Mr. Olympia three times (from 1977 to 1979.His reign represented an emphasis from mass to aesthetics.Zane had the second thinnest waist of all Mr. Olympias after Sergio Oliva, with his broad shoulders forming a distinctive V-taper. His height was 5 feet 9 inches (1.75 m) and weight was less than 190 pounds when he won all three Mr. Olympias. He is also known by the nickname “The Chemist” because of his Bachelor of Science degree. Frank famously trained with lighter weights and won several victories but was later trained by Joe Weider with heavier weights. And after that training he had found the shape needed for success at Olympia. And won the title of Mr. Olympia in 1980. Earlier, he had won three consecutive Mr. Olympia titles.Shortly before the competition,He had a poolside accident at his home in which he lost 15 pounds (7 kg) of muscle. The accident marked the end of his reign as Arnold Schwarzenegger controversially placed third on his return to the top of the podium, with Zane.

Zane is one of three men who have defeated Schwarzenegger (along with Chester Yorton and Sergio Oliva) in a bodybuilding competition. He is one of the very few Mr. Olympia winners under 200 pounds (91 kg).

He, who retired after 1983’s Mr. Olympia, competed for more than 20 years and won Mr. America, Mr. Universe and Mr. Olympia during his career.

Frank owned and operated “Zen Heaven” in Palm Springs, Calif., in 1985 with his wife, Christine. Where he conducts one-on-one sessions with clients who wish to maintain a symmetrical physique.

Zane was inducted into the Joe Weider Hall of Fame.

Zane has written a newsletter called the him Newsletter since 1998. The Frank in Zen newsletter provides the latest information in all aspects of bodybuilding.

In 2003 he received the Arnold Schwarzenegger Lifetime Achievement Award at the Arnold Classic.

Zane served as a consulting producer on the 2005 film “Sea Arnold Run” and also played an IFBB announcer.He appeared in the 2011 film, the documentary Challenging Impossibility, narrating a weightlifting odyssey. The film was in the official selection of the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival.Frank  began filming in June 2020, a feature documentary on his life directed and produced by filmmaker Alex Ardenti.

He lives with his wife in San Diego, California. , and their learning center is now known as the “Zen Experience”. He also operates a commerce site selling books, supplements and training equipment. In addition, he is also the founder of Zen Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA. where it facilitates bodybuilding art and photography as well as is dedicated to bringing Golden Era bodybuilding back into the mainstream.

Zane runs his website since 2006 and has also appeared in seminars and book signings.

He married Christine Zane in 1967. They have been married for 53 years. He is happily doing life in California with his wife. We do not know about their children.
