After a 12-hour workday, Teixeira went to practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with the American Top Team. John Hackleman coached Teixeira’s fighter and was impressed by the Brazilian’s skills. Hackleman invited Teishera to The Pit in California, where Glover began training with UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell. Thanks to perseverance, talent and hard work, under the guidance of his mentor Luigi Mondelli – the head coach of the American Top Team, Glover managed to get a black belt in Brazilian Combat Jiu-Jitsu.


Teixeira later continues to train at The Pit, and competes in local tournaments. In May 2006, Teixera made her WEC debut. The fighter defeated Carlton Johnson by TKO in the first round. This was followed by another victory, and at WEC 24 Teixeira faced Rameau Thieri Sokuju in the cage, who was also knocked out in the first round.The Brazilian then took his record to 17-2, including victories over Marvin Eastman and Ricco Rodriguez, and made his UFC debut in 2012.

He won his first five bouts under the auspices of the UFC. He defeated Fabio Maldonado, Quinton Jackson, and Ryan Bader, and this streak allowed him to enter the UFC light heavyweight title fight against John Jones. The fight took place at UFC 172 in April 2014 and the Brazilian challenger lost by unanimous decision. In October 2014, Teixeira lost a decision to Phil Davis at UFC 179. After that, Glover rehabilitated himself, having won 3 spectacular victories in a row. He finished off Ovins Saint-Prue, Patrick Cummins and Rashad Evans ahead of schedule.However, in the next performance, the Brazilian failed. In a fight with Anthony Johnson, he lost by knockout in the first seconds of the first round at UFC 202 in August 2016.
