Mixed Martial Arts Career
Blakhovich made his KSW debut, competing in the Light Heavyweight Grand Prix at KSW 9. He defeated three opponents in one evening and became the champion of that tournament. His first opponent was Martin Zavada, whom he defeated by unanimous decision. He defeated the next two opponents with an armbar, including Antoni Chmielewski. Four months later, Blakhovich defeated Christian M’pumba by submission, and in December 2008 he defeated the hitherto undefeated Maro Perak. In 2009, Blachovic accepted Tomasz Drval’s offer and joined him at the Throwdown Training Center in San Diego.Blakhovich temporarily moved to heavyweight by agreeing to fight Lloyd Marshbank at the War Gods tournament, but that card was canceled. However, Blakhovich soon suffered a serious knee injury, leaving for a long time. Blakhovich planned to return in March, at the WFC 10 tournament against Aleksandar Radoslavlevich, but decided to withdraw from the fight and was replaced by Antoni Chmielewski.
After recovering from a knee injury, and downtime at 17 months, Blachovich took part in the second KSW Grand Prix in weight up to 95 kg. Blakhovich had a fight with two rivals in one evening. In the first fight, he knocked out Brazilian Giulio Brutus in the first round. In the semifinals, Blachovich scored teammate Wojciech Orlowski at 1:37 in the first round. After that, Blakhovich performed at a tournament in Cheboksary, and forced Nikolai Onikienko to surrender in June 2010. In the KSW Grand Prix Finals, Blachovich fought Daniel Tabera, and won by TKO in the 2nd round, becoming the KSW Grand Prix Light Heavyweight Champion. He lost this fight by TKO, as he could not continue the fight due to a leg injury. Blakhovich had a rematch with Sokuju at KSW XVII. This Polish mixed martial artist won by unanimous decision to become the KSW Light Heavyweight Champion.. He spent the next three fights in KSW against Mario Miranda, Houston Alexander and Goran Relzic, and won all of them by unanimous decision.
Ultimate Fighting Championship
In January 2014, with a 17-3 record, Blachovich signed a contract to compete in the UFC light heavyweight division.In his UFC debut, Blakhovich fought Ilir Latifi on October 4, 2014, at UFC Fight Night 53. This martial artist had won the first round by TKO. On April 11, 2015, Blachovich fought Jimi Manuva at UFC Fight Night 64. Blachovich lost the fight by unanimous decision.
