His’s full name is Thomas Robert Daley. He was born on 21 May 1994. Apart from being a British diver, he is also a television personality. He won the gold medal in the men’s synchronized 10-meter platform event at the 2021 Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. He is the double world champion in the FINA 10-meter platform event at the age of 15 and then won in 2017. He won Olympic bronze medals in the 2012 Platform Event, the 2016 Synchronized Event, and the 2020 Platform Event. He has also participated in team events. He is a 4-time Commonwealth Champion and a 5-time European Champion. Also he won the inaugural mixed team world title in 2015.

His’s birthplace is Plymouth, England, UK. He will turn 27 in 2021. His early diving inspirations were Canadian diver Alexandre Despati and British diver Leon Taylor. Alexandre Despatie won the gold medal at the 1998 Commonwealth Games at the age of 13. Leon Taylor became the mentor. He had his first competition in April 2003 at the National Novice Championships. Where he won a medal in the 8/9 year old in the boys category. He won the 1m, 3m and platform events at an invitational event in Southampton in September 2003, making an impression on a wide audience. In 2004, 2005 and 2006 he won his age group at the British Championships in the 1m springboard, 3m springboard and platform.

He won the stage competition in the national junior (under-18) group in June 2004, a month after his tenth birthday. Where he became the youngest winner. In 2005  he competed as a guest contestant at the Australian Elite Junior Nationals where  he finished first on the podium and second in the 3 meter springboard in the 14–15 age group event.

His’s father’s name is Robert Daley and his mother’s name is Debbie Daley. Daley has two brothers named William and Ben. – William is three years younger than Daley and Ben is five years younger than Daley. A few days after his’s 17th birthday, his father died of a brain tumor. At that time his father was 40 years old.

Journey

He started diving when he was seven years old. And then he became a member of the Plymouth Diving Club. When he turned nine, he started preparing for national and international competitions. He was Britain’s youngest competitor, representing Great Britain at the 2008 Summer Olympics. At that time he was just 14 years old and he was the youngest of any country that participated in the final.

Although he did not win any medals at the time. But in 2009 he reached a career-best ranking of number one in the FINA World Aquatics Championships Diving Rankings for the 10 m platform. In which there was 10 meter individual platform competition and 10 meter synchro diving (with Max Brick).

Following the increased sporting interest in the 2012 Summer Olympics among the UK public, Daly was approached by television network ITV to star in their new celebrity diving reality TV show, Splash. He made his debut as a mentor to celebrity contestants attending the show’s premiere on January 5, 2013.He is the first British diver to win four Olympic medals.

Education

He attended Eggbuckland Community College from the age of 11 to 14. After that he enrolled in Plymouth College. He had obtained eight A* grades and one A in the GCSEs. In 2012, he completed his two years of A-level studies in Mathematics, Spanish and Photography. He then obtained an A* in Photography A-Level and an A in Spanish and Maths A-Level.
